About Merino Wool
Special care is recommended to keep your investment in long-lasting, beautiful condition. Merino wool is a natural fiber and delicate in composition. This fiber is subject to pilling which can occur with constant use over time. These blankets are not recommended for daily heavy use. They are intended to accent your space and are regarded as decorative statement pieces. They can certainly be used for light use as a lap blanket or blanket shawl. Should pilling occur due to friction or overuse, simply trim the small bits of wool or using your finger, pull them off gently, and smooth the remaining fiber down with your hand. Some shedding is normal and should not be considered a defect.
Each specialty blanket is hand-knit to order using the highest quality 100% Merino Wool. These fibers derive from sustainably sourced merino wool sheep and are naturally hypoallergenic. I utilize a special felting process that binds the fibers together making the un-spun wool which is delicate in nature, strong, and durable for use.
Cleaning and Care
Machine washing is not recommended for your Merino Wool blanket. Spot cleaning is the best method to clean the wool should it become soiled. Keep in mind that Merino wool is water and stain resistant so, with special care and consideration for the quality of your investment, heavy cleaning should not be necessary.
