Work To The 15

Sometimes I can get so caught up and focused solely on crocheting or working on my jewelry. Most times this leads to the neglect of other obligations and responsibilities that I need to attend to during the day. I know God hears the silent prayers of my heart and gives me the guidance and gentle nudges I need when I need them. As I am sitting here crocheting and listening to my morning bible lesson from Andrew Wommack ministries, God gently directs my path. Just as He promised in Proverbs 3:6, He softly speaks to me the words “just work to the 15”. Immediately the anxiety I felt at the thought of having to stop my work was replaced by peace. At that moment I was experiencing the promise in scripture unfold, the faithfulness of my Lord providing what He promised, guidance.

Since I’m working on a blanket, the Lord saying “work to the 15” meant for me to work until my 15th increase (which makes the blanket bigger row by row) and then stop. This was perfect because I’d been struggling all morning & teetering between “just keep going one more row” and “no, stop and put it down” and then “keep going, no stop here!” These were the thoughts in my head that always bring me anxiety when I am in the making process. The Lord’s sweet words to my spirit calmed me and silenced all the anxiety-producing chatter in my head. He allowed me to keep working but gave me a definite cut-off point. I was content with that which made it easier for me to stop my work & focus my attention on other things that also needed to be done. I know that I can pick my work back up later and He will again give me a cut-off time. I am so comforted when God speaks to me in this way because I know He’s always present. I know during these times that I don’t have to physically stop and pray because of the thoughts in my head & the meditations of my heart, even when filled with anxiety, He hears and responds without me even having to ask!

His guidance is priceless. His direction is limitless. And His faithfulness is endless.
