This Poet
I was born a poet and will travel thru life as
a poet and while on my journey will birth the linguistics in my mind brought forth thru
the vibratory force of my voice which harbors the power to break down the weak and
strengthen the strong
I, this poet, anointed with a lyrical multitude of effortless free verse graciously placed upon my thoughts naturally, without need to rehearse
I sleep as a poet and will awake as a poet giving generously to all who will listen, the pleasure of resting in my alphabetic capacity breathing in nouns and their pro, assimilating similes, conjugating verbs, forming sentences that rhyme and prose, joining words that haiku and building stanzas to captivate the mind
I sit as a poet and will stand as a poet who thru timeless poems pays homage to influences from times past pushing pen to paper and pencil to page telling stories thru flying sounds relevant to this age
To the ONE whose foolishness is wiser than man’s wisdom and weakness stronger than man’s strength (1 Corinthians 1:25) I submit willingly, this poet, giving thanks for voice, those voices, who inspired this poet to rain letters of poetic complexity and pour words of artistic simplicity upon ears waiting to experience flight
I speak as a poet and read as a poet between the lines of newspapers and books allowing knowledge to take form in my words blocking all ignorance from entering my thoughts freeing my mind and wakening my awareness of the world outside my window
I give thanks as a poet and give praise as a poet knowing, this gift bestowed upon me, knowing, my flow has ever so graciously been, given to me from He Who created me to be all He wants me to be and reflect all He wants me to see and speak all He needs you to hear
So for Him, I will live as a poet and die as a poet, this poet, who HE created me to be.
