WHAT DOES MADE-TO-ORDER MEAN?

Made-to-order has a two-fold meaning at NyaMani:

1. Items are not made until they are ordered.

2. Items are made according to the customer’s specifications (custom or bespoke).

At times there will be items in my shop that are ready-to-wear, but the availability of these items is very limited. Making my designs solely by hand without the use of machines is a slow process. I do not have an inventory of already made items or unnecessary materials/supplies in my studio. I keep a very limited supply of yarn on hand according to the brands and types I work with the most. Doing this helps me avoid wasted yarn which in the long run can result in wasted money. Most times I will order the yarn I need (if I don’t have the color on hand) the day I receive the order. Operating and creating through this made-to-order type of business model allows me to be less restricted and more creative. It also allows for versatility in my designs and unlimited customization options for the customer. In short, this approach eliminates excess production processes, supplies/materials, inventory, and costs, giving me the freedom to create with efficiency and care. In turn, the results are a sustainable and high-quality product created with excellence.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

I use the age-old craft of knitting and crochet to produce original designs with a unique aesthetic and distinctive style (stunning originality, genuine, exclusive) Though, the results of this craft are nothing short of visually stunning, the beauty and originality come at a price, time. It takes countless hours to produce pieces such as blankets and garments. Other less time-consuming pieces are accessories such as hats and scarves. Though patience is required in the production of the exclusive pieces in The REST. Collection, the end result is priceless. The satisfaction of owning a specialty, handmade piece created especially for you is worth the sacrifice of patience. You and your loved one are worth the investment. With that being said, all pieces sold at NyaMani are made by entirely hand without the use of machines and I prefer to take my time and be mindful of this process. An abundance of love and care is put into every item my hands produce and I take this work very seriously. Close attention to detail and thoughtfulness are poured into everything I make to ensure that a quality item is produced. It is of the utmost importance to me that my customers receive nothing but the best. My goal is always quality and excellence as it relates to not only the craftsmanship but every aspect of my made-to-order boutique.
